Sea level rise (SLR) changes the hydraulic parameters of the river leading to the changes in the hydraulic regime and the river morphology. The Saigon River flows through Ho Chi Minh City, with the riverbed is sharply meandered, making the accretion and erosion process becomes very complicated. The paper uses mathematical model with the finite volume method, in which the hydrodynamic equations and siltation transportation are solved, and the river network was modeled using the integrated 1D and 2D models. The calculation results predict that SLR under different scenarios will lead to the change in the riverbed accretion-erosion process, threatening the shoreline stability of the Saigon River in the studying area. The results also show that the largest level of accretion is about 4 cm, while the largest level of erosion is about 19 cm. When the sea level rise happens, the maximum ebbing tidal velocity in the dry season is from 72 200 cm/sec, in the flood season is from 80 220 cm/sec, the ebbing tidal velocity exceeds the erosion speed on both sides of the riverbanks will lead to the erosion. The shoreline changes will take place, especially in the concave riverbanks of the curved river section. Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.
